Don’t wait till the end of the year to do your year-end performance appraisals with your people.
Make sure you are having regular check-ins with your team either weekly, fortnightly, or monthly.
Document conversations and send emails to remind your people of your expectations. It is difficult to raise performance issues or address them if you do not have a trail of conversations about them.
Also, your employees’ employment agreements will have a clause that states that you will do annual performance reviews. So, it is your legal obligation to ensure you do them.
