Happy International Women’s Day!
Inspired by Rosie the Riveter, March 8th has been celebrated for years to recognise the achievements of women and the progress made in terms of gender equality. It is also a reminder of what is still left to be achieved – especially in the fast paced, ever changing world of work! There is so much to be gained from diverse, inclusive workplaces made up of engaged and empowered women and men from all walks of life!
Here at Hello Monday, we have an unwavering focus on diversity, empowerment and values. It encompasses everything we do across the board. We aim to build up our relationships with each other, our clients, and our candidates and we want to use this day as a reminder to make waves in the world of work and keep on doing what we do best – improve people’s lives so they can be the best versions of themselves!
The theme this year is #BalanceforBetter – for us, this means treating gender balance as a business issue, not just a women’s issue.
Gender diversity and engagement in the workplace produces real benefits for organisations:
- Female engagement can increase financial performance.
- Equality equals global growth.
- Supported women transforms industry.
This 2018 study done on the progress of women in the workplace shines a real light on ways we can all improve and lessen the gap between genders.
Fostering an environment where ALL employees feel included and respected starts with safety in the workplace. The Domestic Violence Victim Protection Act 2018 is coming into play on April 1st, 2019, and if you want to find out more, we have a free workshop coming up on March 20th to help us interpret the legislation and what the Act means. More information for this workshop is on our events page here!
Empowered people create empowered workplaces and can help your organisation and teams achieve so much!
Happy International Women’s Day, lets keep striving for progress! #BalanceforBetter
